Geartrain Define with its contents

Geartrain can be defined as the combination of gears combined in such a way that they transmit motion from one gear to other.

Gear trains may consist of following :-
  • Driving gears - Attached to the input shaft. This shaft is rotated with the external force
  •  Driven gears/Motor gears - attached to the output shaf. This shaft is rotated with the help of motion transmitted from driving gears.
  • Idler gears - interposed between the driving and driven gear in order to maintain the direction of the output shaft the same as the input shaft or to increase the distance between the drive and driven gears.
