CAT 2015 Results: 9000 candidates score zero or negative

CAT 2015 Results announced by IIM-A has revealed that about 9000 candidates have either scored zero or negative marks in the coveted MBA entrance exam. This year, a total of 1,79,602 candidates had appeared for the exam out of 2,18,664 applicants. The CAT 2015 Results were announced via text SMS to the mobile number of registered candidates on January 8.

According to the number of test takers shared by IIM Ahmedabad, which conducted CAT on behalf of all IIMs this year, the detailed score cards carry more details on sectional scores of all candidates.

The CAT 2015 official results data available with Careers360 suggests that candidates who left their answer sheet blank came out with an overall 5.01 percentile. This means that any candidate with less than 5 percentile would have scored zero or negative scores. One of such candidates shared her text message with Careers360. “Dear Candidate, your percentile for CAT 2015 for application number 50003013 is 5.01,” read the SMS text received by the candidate.

CAT 2015 Results: 9000 candidates score zero or negative
Statistically, with a total of 1,79,602 candidates taking the coveted exam this year, the number of candidates below 5 percentile is a little less than 9000.
Though the number of candidates scoring zero or negative marks has reduced significantly over the years, experts suggest that 9000 candidates scoring in negative is still a worrying signal for IIMs and CAT exam pattern.

On the basis of the CAT 2015 Result, all 19 IIMs will announce the shortlist of candidates based on their admission criteria and CAT 2015 cutoff. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for Written Ability Test and Personal Interview rounds.  Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is the online testing partner of CAT 2015.

Normalization and Shortlisting at IIMs:
According to the normalization process announced by IIM-A officials, the scores of CAT 2015 results have been adjusted for location and scale differences of score distributions across different test forms. Besides normalization across different forms, the result prepared for CAT 2015 has been further normalized across different sections and the scaled scores obtained by this process have been converted into percentiles. The same percentile will be used as final results for shortlisting by IIMs and other top B-schools accepting Cat scores in India, IIM officials said.

CAT 2015 Pattern change: Still 4 months left to prepare

Compared to last year, where the total duration of the exam was 170 minutes and the candidates were allowed to switch among the two sections. This year the pattern has been changed entirely. As per the new CAT Exam Pattern 2015, the total duration of the exam has been increased to 180 minutes or three hours, with total 100 questions to be answered. Below are the changes that have been done in the Exam Pattern of CAT 2015,
  • CAT is a computer based objective type test with multiple choice questions.
  • The total duration of the exam is 180 minutes with exact 60 minutes to answer each section. The total number of questions is 100, divided into three sections. The exam will be divided into three sections namely, Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC). Candidates will not be allowed to switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section.
  • QA and VRC will have 34 questions each, and DILR will have 32 questions. Some questions in each section may not be of multiple choice type, instead, candidate have to type direct answers on the screen.
  • One of the major changes, and also first time in the history of CAT, candidates will be allowed to use basic on-screen calculator for calculation. The tutorial, explaining the CAT 015 Exam Pattern will be launched on October 15, 2015, for the candidates to have a better understanding of the changed pattern, and the procedures to be followed at the time of CAT 2015 exam.

Especially VS Specially?

These two words may have similar sounds but you have to be choosy when you using it.

 Especially or Specially
This is a favorite question of grammar checkers. Most of the time there is little or no difference between the words especially and specially.

Special is a common adjective. Specially is its adverb form. Special means "particular, distinguished in a distinct way, or designed for a particular purpose." Specially means "particularly, in a distinguishing manner, or for a particular purpose."

Especial is an uncommon adjective. Especially, its adverb form, is much more common. Especial means "exceptional, noteworthy, or particular." Especially means "exceptionally, in a noteworthy manner, or particularly."

In the sense of "particular" or "particularly," the words mean pretty much the same thing. Often they can be used synonymously. However, if you want to stress the exceptional or noteworthy quality, then especial or especially is a better choice. If you want to stress the distinctive purpose of something, then special or specially is the word you are looking for.

Example: This program has specially designed macros for word processors.
(A distinctive purpose)
Example: He did especially well in All-Star Game.
(A noteworthy performance)

Laws Of Thermodynamics

The Three laws of Thermodynamics are as follows.

Zeroth Law:
When two are in constant thermal equilibrium with a third body then they two are also in equal thermal equilibrium with each other.

First Law: Law of Conversation of Energy
This law States that energy can neither be created nor be destroyed it can only be transformed from one form of energy to another.

Second law :
The entropy of an isolated system not in thermal equilibrium always increases.

Third Law:
Entropy of a system approaches constant value as the temperature approaches absolute zero.

Terms Used:
Absolute Zero: The lowest temperature that is theoretically possible.

Entropy : A Thermodynamic property that is the measure of a systems thermal energy per unit temperature that us unavailable for doing useful work.

Paytm promo Offers - Very less

With this running 🏃 age in technology, paytm had a very nice feedback to the recharge facilities. Everything was going smooth with their promotional stuff coupons but with time paytm is getting short on Promo offers and that's a problem for me. I liked Paytm because of those offers. Indeed we all love it. (cashback)

Hope they think of better points and will soon startup with offers worth profits for gaining more customers.

It's 27th December today, Second day from Christmas and 4 days away from a New year to begin.
I must be happy with this day, you all must be thinking like this. But I'm not happy neither anywhere it, as I'm having an exam to give today which is Operations Research.

Exams ruined all my Happenings, and still going on.
7th too spoiled, which is my sister's birthday.
. Subject is mixed with theory and numerical(thank god no more derivations). So it seemed easy to me.

Ha ha.
Let's pray for my exam today.
Wish me luck.

Refrigeration and air conditioning.

A subject of Maharishi Dayanand University in 7th semester is a big nut in a shell to be nailed out.

Or maybe It was my hard luck due to which I'm going to be failing in this.

How many coincidence can occur at once? Many if you ask me.

First The Question Paper,
Second our class in charge, and
Third an external teacher.

Question paper was 60% out of syllabus, see this case can happen only in MDU.

Our class in charge then over paper was much more of a scene herself.

External was visiting every 5 minutes.

So I failed in this subject. And I'm preparing again for the same in next semester.

Wish me luck.

Engine Assembly of Honda Motorcycles

In this Training we came to know about Engine Assembly of Honda Dio.

Engine Assembly sounds a very short word but when an engine is to be assembled, it takes a whole lot of time to assemble a single engine. So don’t go by the name.

Engine Assembly procedure is done through the following steps :

Step 1 :

A “R-CASE” is used in this step in which three kinds of Bearings are fitted or can say are pressed using “RCC bearing Press”. RCC bearing Press weighs 2000 kg’s, which is enough to kill a Blue Whale even by pressurising. Three bearings of different diameters are pressurised in R-Case.

R-Case For Honda Motorbikes

R-Case Is shown above for better Understanding.

Bearing Details : Radial Ball Bearings are used, various sizes are detailed below

  • Bearing Number – 6201 = 23.20 to 23.42
  • Bearing Number – 6203 = 23.20 to 23.42
  • Bearing Number – 63122 =  20.10 to 20.27

R-Case showing Bearing Details which are fitted in it.

Image – To Draw

Step 2 :

  1. Screen Oil Filter – First Pic shows how Filter(Square)looks like and second pic shows where filter lives.
  2. Spring
  3. Drum Stopper
  4. Washer
  5. Pivot Bolt
  6. Threebond – Anaerobic Adhesive and Sealant

Step: 3

In this step only the Process to Hold the Bearing is Done. Which is done in the way given below :

  1. Bearing Hold Plate applied over the bearings so as the bearings stay in frame and do not move out.
  2. ThreeBond – Same as used in step above
  3. 6.8 measure bolts are driven through plates holding bearings.
  4. Bearing Holding Plate – 10 to 14 nm

Now the R-Case is flipped and further works are done on the other side of it.

Step : 4

In this step oil Pump is added to the largest bearing (Brg No. – 6201).

  1. 2 Dowels(Cylindrical hollow tubes) are fitted ranging dia between 8 - 14
  2. Gasket placed over the Bearing 6201
  3. Oil Pump placed
  4. Bolts 6 – 35
  5. Engine Oil used for Lubrication in small amounts
